I've just found out that there will be no public transportation services on Christmas Day or Boxing Day in Britain. No trains. No buses. Nada. Zip. Oh, of course, you can catch a cab, but, due to the increased demand, you may just have to wait a good long while to get a cab. It's just... just... too hard to believe. I would expect a reduction in services. But to eliminate all public transport services seems so, so, I don't know, idiotic. And insensitive. The official line is that it is not cost effective to run public transport on the holidays. Balderdash!!!
