Edwardian Sunday in Knaresborough

This morning we went to an Edwardian Christmas market in Knaresborough. Some of the vendors and visitors were dressed in Edwardian-era clothes, and there was a curious wagon pumping out organ music and decorated with moving figures made of tin. Vendors at the market were selling handcrafted Christmas decorations, candles, lambswool slippers, baked goods, kitchenwares, pillow coverings, etc. There were several tombola booths. A tombola is a kind of lottery: You pay one pound for a chance to draw up to five tickets from a drum. You win if your ticket number matches the number of a prize at the booth. there were carnival rides and a bouncy castle.

We purchased some Yorkshire Tea tins at a great price and picked up gifts for Brad's office gift exchange.

This afternoon Brad and I will bake cookies. I'm going to indoctrinate him in the art of grandma's Italian cookies. They are my all-time favorite Christmas cookie.
