Signs of Spring

A friend from Japan wrote this week to say they had experienced their first sign of spring -- a warm wind known as "haru ichiban". ("Haru" means spring and "Ichiban" means first.) Here in Yorkshire we have been receiving our own signs of spring: little lambs frolicking in the fields and carpets of crocus plants all over the green patches of Harrogate.
