Wild Wonderful West Virginia

We started the day off at one of our favorite breakfast haunts, Cafe Hon, and it was everything we remembered it to be: fun, delicious, friendly, funky. Then back home so we could both pack up: Brad for the trip back to England, me for an overnight visit at the cabin. We left the house around 11 a.m. and said goodbye to Brad who will make his way over to Dulles in a rental car. We had good weather for our drive to West Virginia. Dash and Nemo spent most of the trip hanging their heads out the window enjoying the view. It was great to be at the cabin again; it's such a lovely retreat in a beautiful setting. I saw D&B's remodeled kitchen and was duly impressed. It seems better equipped than their kitchen in B'more. We relaxed out on their deck, reading and birdwatching. We saw some chickadees, nuthatches and a grey thrush (?) and I was thoroughly delighted when a hummingbird whizzed past us. Domenica made us another tasty meal: grilled burgers, creamed corn and more 'maters.
